At New School Community Day, chronic absenteeism has risen 154% over the 5-year window — from 17.5% in 2017 to 44.4% in 2020. Despite that, the gap vs US average of ~28% has actually widened — from 10.5% above in 2017 to 16.4% above in 2020.
